Heritage Quilt auctioned on Sept. 28, 2008

The Heritage Quilt auctioned last year at the Preble County Historical Society has become the inspiration for a second Patchwork Signature Quilt.

How would you like to have your family’s name, descendants, dates, or interests embroidered on a quilt? The Preble County Historical Society is sponsoring a second Signature Quilt as a fund raising project with proceeds to benefit the Society. You may purchase as many blocks as desired, each 12 ˝” x 12 ˝” block is only $10.00 (includes full kit and instructions), if you complete the embroidery yourself. A fee of $25.00 per block will be charged if you have a Society volunteer complete the block. As many names, dates and interests can be embroidered on the quilt block as space permits.

Quilt blocks may be purchased by contacting Corinne Clift at (937) 902-9858 or by email at Corinneclift@woh.rr.com, subject: PCHS. The quilt kits will also be available for pickup at the Historical Center, 7693 Swartsel Rd., Eaton OH (accessible off St. Rt. 122, 6 miles SE of Eaton, 1 mile NW of Gratis), by calling (937) 787-4256, or by email at preblecohistsoc@brecnet.com.

All embroidered blocks must be completed and returned by December 31, 2009. The quilt will be joined and quilted during the year 2010 with plans to auction the quilt during the 40th Anniversary year of the Preble County Historical Society in 2011.

If you would like your family’s names on this heritage quilt, get out your embroidery frame and needle, and purchase a quilt block soon!
